What GLI Is

GamingLicenseIndex is a public read-only registry of gambling license data sourced directly from publicly available regulator records.

The system provides deterministic verification endpoints and a browsable operator index. All data reflects the most recent snapshot from official regulator sources.

What GLI Is NOT

• Not a recommendation service
• Not a ranking or scoring system
• Not a review platform
• Not legal advice

Data Source Policy

Data is sourced exclusively from publicly available regulator records. Manual verification is performed against official regulator registries.

Current data source: Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) public registry.

No enrichment, no inference, no fuzzy matching. If data is not present in the official regulator record, it is not included.

Deterministic Methodology

When an operator has multiple licenses, the verification API returns a single license using deterministic resolution:

1. Prefer license with status VERIFIED
2. Else first license with non-UNCLEAR status
3. Else first license by created_at (ascending)

The operator detail page displays all licenses for full transparency.

Default = UNCLEAR

If an operator or brand is not found in regulator records, the license status returns UNCLEAR. This is not a judgment—it reflects absence of data in the queried regulator registry.

GamingLicenseIndex provides technical infrastructure for license verification. It does not provide legal advice, regulatory guidance, or compliance recommendations.

Users must verify license information directly with the relevant regulatory authority before making decisions.
